Oh you wanted advice on how to do the mission properly? I can't say I've done it enough to give the most sound plan but I will say this:
1. Do not have a carrier try and protect the Kang
2. Do have very dakka escorts protect the Kang
3. Do hit the kang with a heal any chance you get
4. DO NOT take out the cube on the first dock you go to. It becomes...difficult after that point. Much like climbing Everest is difficult. But with a blizzard thrown in.

Except that the blizzard snow is made of swords, and the entire mountain has suddenly turned to brussel sprout flavoured jello.

The mission by itself isn't terrible, terrible players make the mission terrible.
Like all STF's it takes planning and teamwork- two things public queues lack in, so you either get lucky and get a good random team, or do some with the fleet, or join one of several STF dedicated chat channels.

gear: for normal diffuclty gear doesnt really matters, but for elite, everyone should be equipped with at least XI borg weapons, which are easy to get after doing some other stf's.
Now for the tactic: Kang defender should be a tac escort, and must be able to take on 2 wings of BOPs with ease. The group must take out the BOPs lunching from the cube they're currently at.
The safest and efficient tactic is RMMRL (right middle middle right left) The rest of the group goes for the right cube, kills all probes, proceeds to middle cube, kills the probes and pop the cube, immediately going after the raptors, once they're taken care of, pop the right cube, and proceed to the last one, cleaning up the Negh'vars, the probes and the cube.
