Converting time

Since converting time zones can be a pest I would like everypony to post their time zone on here. Once I have everpony's (or at least the ponies who check in regularly) timezone I'll make a conversion chart and set it as my signature picture. From now one if you are talking about certain times include your timezone.

My time zone is GMT -6:00; or I believe the zone is also refered to as "Centeral Standard Time".

Both home and school are Eastern Standard.

Time zones can change depending on where you are and if that area follows "Daylight Savings Time" or not. If I lived 150KM west of where I am right now I would be in a area where it would be on Centeral time most of the year and on Mountain time over winters.

Thankfully though, I am in a bit saner area of the country; and here we do not flop around across time zones like a fish out of water

EST = UTC-5
CST = UCT-6
GMT = UTC (same thing just different letters)
To convert from your time to another's you simply add or subtract from your UTC difference to get their UTC difference
for example
UTC+9 - 15 hours = UTC-6 simple. subtracting hours means that they are that many hours behind you. Adding hours means that they are that many hour ahead of you.

Ok how about this. Everyone post the UTC notation of your time as part of your signature. This way you won't have the hassle of remembering to post your time zone every time (pun not totally intended). During daylight savings time post UTCD and add an hour to the difference e.g. UTC-3h = UTCD-2h, UTC+4h = UTCD+5h
AST = UTC-4h = UTCD-3h
EST = UTC-5h = UTCD-4h
CST = UTC-6h = UTCD-5h
MST = UTC-7h = UTCD-6h
PST = UTC-8h = UTCD-7h
GMT = UTC
Arizona special time = UTC-7h always
Newfoundland time = UTC-3h30 = UTCD-2h30
