KBX and I decided that we should create a section for people who wanted beta readers, idea bouncer-offers, and general help with stories! We seem to have a few creative ponies here who enjoy writing, so if you've got stuff that you want read, reviewed, or what have you, post it here!

One of the ideas I had involved some slight similarity, at least for a beginning, to my old Sonic fanfic, "A Change of Face", Not sure if I want to change it, because otherwise it'd be good

I think what might be a good idea would be to see if we can convert several of these stories that we want to work on to google docs, unless you already have them uploaded somewhere like Deviant Art or Fanfiction.net. Or FiMfiction, now that it exists. Basically I guess I'd need to know what you need help with, KBX. ^_^

You can bounce ideas off me and come to me for proof reading and stuff. Just remember...I'm a little..nit-picky and fuss about every little error. That's kinda why I say "I can't art." I make 1 error and I think that the whole thing is ruined. But I digress. Bounce ideas, proofread, etc. I can help with..

Righto then, here is the sonic fanfic Now I know it's not entirely grammatically correct, I learned that long after I stopped writing it. Knowing what I did wrong there can help me learn towrite the MLP fanfic better

Coming late to this party, but hey, I made it.

I would love to get my old muse working again, and I would also love to see if the aforementioned "Space Ponies" story/fanfic/thing could actually be a good story, just as a little project to become mildly famous.

But here's my personal catch. I can't make an original character to save myself. Every time I try to make a story or a novella, it always comes out as some rehash of an action movie or dark sad tale.

So I posit a proposal. I invite everypony to leave me YOUR characters. Suggest a setting, maybe even suggest a plot, and give me a pony to put in it. Gimme some material, I'll give you a show.

Probably. If the studying ever works out out of my way.

First of all, Zispinhoff, your profile picture makes me smile, and it's always how I hear Radsjet's voice in my head.

As for ideas... we've been placing OCs from the fleet on the Lightshine Group and Of Wings and Steam threads. You're more than welcome to those OCs, if you'd like to use them! I've been (trying) to work on a story involving the fleet OCs working behind the scenes in Equestria following the events at the end of the 2nd season.

As far as ponytrek goes... hmm... Lo'Mesh was working on a story involving the characters from the fleet and fighting on the Borg front. That might not be a bad place to start. Either that or attempt to do a crossover. Equestria could be a new member to the Federation (let's face it, Celestia would never join the KDF), and your story could document the journey of the first majority Pony crewed starship. Just an idea.

That would be quite cool, sort of fleet related? Like with fleet people in?

,As with my Sonic fanfic, I'm all for having other peoples' OC's in, I don't believe it'll be the Ponies in Space type deal though. But there'll likely be lots of Star Trek references here and there

KBX, I'm gonna have to peruse that story at some point. I'm not familiar at all with the Sonic world, but you type well enough, so it should be pretty well written, judging from that. Scootaloo, thank you for informing me how to start looking for everypony's OCs.

So I've finally learned a little about navigating the forums, and WOW, do I have a lot to catch up on. My project that was proposed is now on a standstill, due to the facts that :

1: I have little free time in which to write.
2: I have so much to learn about everypony's OC, in addition to just finding them in the forums.
3: I need to honor another pony writing obligation I apparently said I'd do.
4: Lastly, this "Star Ponies" thing popped onto EQD just yesterday, so it's been done already.

Thankfully, this gives me a little time to consider how to even approach my first fanfic since NGE.

I type well enough now. The Sonic fanfic was written half a decade ago, I've obviously picked up a lot since then. But the ideas are still there

Wow, that's really good Scoots. If you want, I could go over it in more detail later, but as a reader I liked it.

Agreed. Any other suggestions I can use for when I write my MLP fic?

I'm not usually one to double-post, but I have pretty much finished brainstorming. I'm going to be opening another topic for my fic pretty soon, but am still open to ideas

Sounds good, KBX. Yay getting stories off the ground!

This is definitely a WIP, three points I want to focus on right now: Tightening up the beginning, and the ending.

The third possible thing would be giving it an overall direction. But I'm not sure about that.

Really I'm most interested in general feedback. Impressions, thoughts, if something hit you the wrong way and fell flat. Or even if something worked but you can think of better way to deliver it. Or, whatever you want to offer, really.

I'm not too concerned with the nitty-gritty editing and smaller errors as anything can be rewritten at the moment.

Oh, also... would it be alright if i directly quote the show? My soundboard on my phone has helped a lot in my brainstorming. Possible problem is that I have found ways to use some of the quotes/soundbytes in my fic. Do you guys think that's cool, or should I try to avoid that?
