New Guardian Council and Government Positions

Descriptions of each rank, job, and position of the various positions in the new Guardian Council and Government are provided below. This is for reference only.

Regent: The highest ranking official in the community. This person is responsible for directing the overall growth, direction, and long-term goals of the community. All decisions with community-wide ramifications require his final approval. He is also the chairman of the Council, a discussion group comprised of the Regent, Chief Royal Advisor, Chancellor, and Elements of Harmony. Elements who create long term policies affecting their departments need to coordinate with the Regent and get his “seal of approval” before enacting the policy.

Chief Royal Advisor: The Regent’s “right-hand man” and personal assistant. They fulfill the responsibilities of the Regent in their absence and function as both an advisor to the Regent and a moderator during Council meetings and during any disputes between the Tier 1, 2, and 3 positions. Their relationship to the governing structure is similar to that of the Vice President of the United States.

Chancellor: This is the primary supervisor of the Elements of Harmony and the Regent’s direct link to the working departments. They direct and coordinate the efforts and projects of the Elements, providing updates and feedback to the Regent, Royal Advisor, and Elements on project progress and any new policies or directions that will affect the Elements’ departments.

Captain of the Royal Guard: A broad and wide-reaching position that is in charge of tracking and managing the day-to-day administrative tasks necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the community. This position is far less specialized than most others because of the scope of their involvement. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: compiling news from the community and sending out a weekly “newsletter”; managing and periodically purging the Fleet banks; and maintaining and updating the standards and policies of the Charter.

Ambassador: Manages and oversees all efforts responsible for community outreach programs; inter-Fleet diplomacy; recruitment efforts; and promotional materials. Their domain is media, material, and actions that put a positive face on the community for the world to see and how the community goes about reaching out to others.

Domestic Supervisor: This position is in overall charge of community resource management, morale, welfare, recreation, and growth. They oversee all efforts pertaining to the upkeep of websites and forums, intra-Fleet affairs, member well-being, and event coordination. They would help the Counselor, Forum Admin, Foal-sitter, and Party planner keep things working smoothly within the community.

(Guild/Game) Steward: An Elemental position that coordinates with the other Elements to ensure that every Guild/Game receives the same level of attention and organization as the Fed fleet.

Media Specialist = Manages projects having to do with any visual media used to promote the community, recruit new members, customize forums and websites, and advertise community events. The Media specialist would utilize the skills of our artistic ponies in order to make backgrounds, comics, or web posters to advertise our community. Only official projects fall under their management; individual members are encouraged to create content of their own for submission and review as creativity and inspiration strikes them.

Party Planner = (Also known as the Events Coordinator) This person schedules and plans events, get-togethers, and other functions that would include the participation of a moderate to large number of members. Examples of such may include, but are not limited to: regular STF runs on both Normal and Elite; ceremonies (ie. appointments to positions or promotions); role playing events; celebrations; and our signature dance parties. Each game our community branches into would have its own Party Planner. (i.e.: there would be an Party Planner for STO, as well as one for TF2.)

Counselor = Functions as a mediator between members that are having troubles they can not work out between themselves and looks after the general welfare of the community. They stand ready to listen to complaints, concerns, and problems pertaining to issues both within the community and personal lives. Confidentiality and trust is paramount for this position. Disclosure is completely up the individual with the issue. Anything said to the counselor would be kept completely confidential.

Forum Administrator = Would be assigned to a specific game forum and would appoint moderators to help make sure that members are following forum guidelines and rules, that active threads are correctly sorted, and inactive threads properly archived. All news, updates, announcements, media, and permissions are subject to their review for compliance with posted guidelines on a case by case basis.

Pony Scholar = Also known as the Mentor Coordinator. They ensure that new players to the game have access to experienced members that can provide guidance on game mechanics and the policies of the community. New players to the game may request that the Scholar pair them with a volunteer to give them personal assistance until they feel comfortable with the workings of the game and community expectations. All new members to the community will “check in” with a Pony Scholar to obtain an explanation of community rules and policies.

Sergeant at Arms: This position is tasked with moderating the community chat channels; reminding members of guidelines and enforcing policies; and investigating reports of inappropriate behavior. They will be in charge of giving out consequences for breaking fleet rules.

Diplomat: Initiates and monitors working relationships with other Fleets and communities on behalf of the GoE. This position is the voice of the community to the world and works closely with the Media Specialist and upper Tiers to promote the community and its agendas and values, thus securing influential and important allies.

PLEASE NOTE:

Wonderbolts: May appoint or request additional support in the form of Tier 5 Court Officials, or Royal Guards in the case of the Sergeant at Arms.

Court Official/Royal Guard: Support workers that assist the Wonderbolts in accomplishing their tasks and producing material for the community. This position is by Element or Wonderbolt appointment and is meant to be a situational office only. Royal Guards are unique to the Sergeant-at-Arms.
